Since 2004 WIN has awarded 47 Scholarships.
Our cause is to help students fray the cost of spiraling college expenses of tuition, books and food, and assist in making the college experience a rewarding one. The USDA reports that college students will usually spend between $163 and $367 a month on food, and books can cost from $300 to $400 a semester. College is important for financial gain and career goals. The future generation of college graduates will play an instrumental part in the trajectory of our country.

The “Jevon Ryans White (JRW) Scholarship” was founded by The Women’s Information Network WIN INC in 1980 to address the many issues and challenges of daily life faced by youth; especially education. The vision and necessity for our organization became clear when Jevon Ryans White, became an innocent victim and was gunned down on March 13, 2004 due to senseless street violence. Since 2004 Jevon’s death became the catalyst to broaden WIN’s focus by awarding an annual scholarship, giving our youth alternatives to negative choices.
Our mission is to embrace the pursuit of excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
